새로나온 리뷰, Archaea의 세포표면 구조

이번 주 Journal of Bacteriology에 미니리뷰가 하나 실렸는데 archaea의 세포표면 구조에 관한 리뷰입니다. 제목은 "Cell Surface Structures of Archaea"이고 네덜란드의 Ken F. Jarrell 교수팀 등이 쓴 논문이군요. 아마 고세균에 관한 연구를 하는 사람들에겐 좋은 자료가 될 것 같습니다.

A three-sugar glycan is assembled via the activity of glycosyltransferases (AglH, AglC, and AglA) onto a dolichol phosphate lipid carrier, flipped to the external face of the cytoplasmic membrane via an unknown mechanism, and then transferred to the flagellins via an oligosaccharyltransferase (AglB).  위 그림은 Methanococcus voltae를 모델로 한 플라젤라 그림인데 glycosyl transferase들은 밝혀졌는데 flippase는 아직 밝혀지지 않은 모양입니다. 그림이 잘 그려진 리뷰를 보는 즐거움은 논문 읽는 맛을 배가시키죠. 관심이 있으신 분들은 한 번 읽어보시면 좋을 것 같네요.
